New Zealand took on Sri Lanka in the second T20I of the three match series at the University Oval in Dunedin. New Zealand pacer Adam Milne bowled with some serious pace right from the first over as one of his thunderbolt delivery broke Sri Lankan opening batter Pathum Nissanka’s bat.

The Kiwi team decided to bowl after winning the toss as the conditions were clearly suitable for seam bowling. Skipper Tom Latham handed over the ball to speedster Adam Milne who looked threatening right from the word go.

Express pace from Adam Milne breaks Pathum Nissanka’s bat

New Zealand pacer Adam Milne came in to bowl the first over of Sri Lankan innings and was right on the money from the first delivery. Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka couldn’t score a single run in the first three deliveries after which he pulled Milne’s fourth delivery over square leg for a boundary.

After conceding a boundary, Adam Milne set his radar once again and bowled a pacy hard length delivery. Nissanka blocked the delivery as the ball hit the upper part of his bat and eventually broken the bat. The handle of Nissanka’s bat almost came out of the bat after which he signalled towards the dressing room for a new bat.

Spark Sport, who’s the official broadcaster of the New Zealand vs Sri Lanka T20I series, shared the video of this hilarious incident along with the caption,“BROKEN BAT Adam Milne with a ☄️ breaking Nissanka’s bat”.

Adam Milne went on to continue bowling with some serious pace throughout the Sri Lankan innings. The Kiwi pacer eventually grabbed a fifer which included the crucial wickets of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka. Milne didn’t allow any easy runs off his bowling as he had just given away 26 runs in his four-over spell.
