The first T20I between Bangladesh and Afghanistan came to a dramatic finish thanks to Karim Jannat who bowled a fantastic hat trick over. However, despite his valiant effort his team ended up being on the losing side.

After conceding a boundary on his first ball in the last over Janat dismissed Mehdy and in the very next ball he picked up Taskin’s wicket. Karim completed his hat trick by sending NasumAhmed back to the hut which put the tigers under pressure as they needed 2 off 2 with 2 wickets in hand.

Hridoy on the other end was waiting to get on strike as he was well-settled on 47 runs but Shoriful had some other plans. Karim bowled a wide delivery outside off on the back of length which Shoriful comfortably cut away for four.

Bangladesh sealed the first T20I by 2 wickets

After the visitors delivered a masterclass performance in the ODI series by winning it 2-1 the home side Bangladesh was in desperate need to break the momentum in the first T20 international. The coin went in their favor and they elected to bowl first in the Sylhet International Stadium.

They restricted the Afghanistan batting lineup to a challenging total of 154 runs after 20 overs. The Bangladeshi spinners bowled well on a very tricky surface. On the other hand, the former Afghanistan captain rescued his team through a gritty 54-run innings which took his team to a formidable total.

While chasing the target the match went down to the wire as Bangladesh lost 4 wickets inside 13 runs. The openers failed to give a great start as they lost their first wicket on 5 runs. Man in form Shanto also couldn’t last for too long as he departed after scoring 14 runs.

The relief partnership came between Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain for the fifth wicket. They made a 103-run stand which almost made a cake for the host to chase the total until Karim Janat’s show happened.

However, it was Hridoy who kept them until the end and took his team home in a very tight situation.
