Team India’s former batter Ambati Rayudu got involved in an ugly face-off with Sheldon Jackson in the match between Saurashtra & Baroda in the Group D of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is also considered as Mini IPL started on 11th October and most of the key Indian players who missed out on an opportunity for the T20 World Cup are representing their state teams in this tournament.

Rayudu’s ugly banter with Sheldon Jackson

Ambati Rayudu lost his temper in the 9th over of the game as Sheldon Jackson was taking a bit too much time to face the ball.

Just as he started pointing toward Jackson, the on-field umpires quickly rushed in to handle the situation and keep both players calm.

Both the players were certainly not pleased and eventually pointed fingers at each other and exchanged a few words.

Krunal Pandya and other Baroda players rushed in as they separated the two players involved in the banter.

Sheldon Jackson, who was timing the ball so well before this incident clearly lost his concentration and started playing rash shots and lost his wicket in the same over.

The Saurashtra batter looked for a non-existent single on the 5th delivery of the 9th over bowled by Meriwala and then got bowled on the next delivery.

The left-arm pacer bowled a change of pace delivery as Jackson was looking to slog the ball away into deep squad stands.

Clearly, it was the case of a batsman completely losing his focus after an ugly fight that cost him his wicket as he got out for mere 17 runs.

However, this clash didn’t cost Saurashtra much as they went on to chase the total setup by Team Baroda in the last over of the innings.

Baroda had put a total of 175 on the board which was chased by Saurashtra courtesy of a breathtaking knock of 97 runs off just 52 deliveries by Samarth Vyas.
