South African cricket team led by Temba Bavuma have been the second-best team in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023. They performed exceptionally well except for those two defeats against the Netherlands and Team India. The Rainbow Nation were the second team to qualify for the semi-finals. They will lock horns with the Australian cricket team in the second semi-final at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 16, Thursday.

Andile Phehlukwayo misses an easy run-out chance against Afghanistan
During Afghanistan’s innings, South African cricketer Andile Phehlukwayo made a schoolboy error which took the cricket fraternity by surprise. The incident happened during the 23rd over of Afghanistan’s innings when the South African had an easy chance to inflict a run-out but he let the opportunity slip away from his hands.

During the third ball of that over, Andile Phehlukwayo bowled a back-of-a-length ball to Azmatullah and the latter nudged it towards the mid-off. South African captain Temba Bavuma ran after the ball and quickly threw it to the bowler before a major mix-up happened between Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai.

Phehlukwayo had so much time to sprint towards the stumps and whip the bails off but he didn’t Instead of taking the easy route, he ended up throwing the ball from five yards out and missed the stumps. Talking about the game, Azmatullah Omarzai led the batting attack by example when the others failed to live up to the mark.
