Arjun came in to bat at the number 9 position for the Mumbai Indians after the dismissal of Piyush Chawla. The young all-rounder took 5 singles of the first 5 deliveries he faced after which he set himself for the big shot he was looking to play.

On the first delivery of the final over of Mumbai Indians’ innings, Mohit Sharma banged the ball pretty short. Arjun Tendulkar looked pretty calm and pulled it quite confidently over the deep square leg boundary for a 73-metre maximum.

Arjun Tendulkar showed immense calmness while hitting his first six in IPL after which cricket fans compared him with his father Sachin Tendulkar. Mohit Sharma too was left in shock after watching the ball travelling over the square leg boundary despite him bowling a decent line and length.

On the fourth delivery of the same over, the GT pacer did make a comeback against Arjun Tendulkar. Mohit bowled a slowish delivery this time as the MI batter looked to heave it over the long-on boundary but couldn’t clear the fielder as Joshua Little took a pretty simple catch as Mumbai Indians lost their 9th wicket.

Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit was quite penetrating throughout the innings as none of their bowlers allowed Mumbai Indians’ batters to settle down on the wicket. Mohammed Shami was threatening with the new ball and so was skipper Hardik Pandya who was backed up by their third seamer Mohit Sharma.

Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad made MI batters’ lives tougher in the middle overs as Rashid grabbed a couple of wickets while Noor Ahmad scalped three wickets. Courtesy of GT’s brilliant bowling display, Mumbai Indians fell short by 55 runs as the Hardik Pandya-led side got their 5th victory in IPL 2023.
