England skipper Ben Stokes found a special fan during the second test between England and New Zealand at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. On Day 4 of the test match a female fan was spotted who tried impressing Ben Stokes with a unique placard and the English skipper was left stunned

The Day 4 of the Wellington Test was dominated by New Zealand batters Kane Williamson and Tom Blundell. However, towards the fag end of New Zealand’s innings, a light-hearted moment grabbed the attention of all cricket fans.

The cameraman caught a female fan seated along with his boyfriend holding a placard. It read: “Ben, my boyfriend’s here to see the cricket. I’m here to see you.”

One of the commentators on air reacted saying: “Biggest question is which Ben? Is it Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes or Ben Stokes” to which another commentator hilariously said, “It’s gonna be Ben Stokes based on the colour of the hair of her boyfriend.”

Just after the poster was shown on the giant screen, the camera panned towards Ben Stokes who nodded his head as he clearly looked shy with the female fan trying to impress him with the poster.

Interestingly, the boyfriend of the female fan holding the placard was a lookalike of English batter Jonny Bairstow as the fans quoted,“Jonny Bairstow was spotted”. The video of Ben Stokes’ interesting reaction to the placard went viral across the social media platforms.

Talking about the match, it was England’s young wonder boy Harry Brook who broke the crucial partnership between Kane Williamson and Tom Blundell as he dismissed centurion Williamson. The Kiwi side lost their last 5 wickets in quick succession allowing England to make a comeback in the test.

Kane Williamson’s 132 and Tom Blundell’s 90 allowed New Zealand to post a total of 483 runs in the second innings. They set a target of 258 runs against the English side despite conceding a huge lead of 226 runs in the first innings.

England once looked in control of the game as they got a good start from their openers and then Joe Root scored a crucial 95. However, the English batters fell short by just 1 run as New Zealand bowlers successfully bowled them out for 256 runs. Neil Wagner was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 4 wickets.
