Crowd chants ‘Jarvo, Jarvo’
Team India and England are currently locking horns in the rescheduled and the series-deciding 5th Test of India’s tour of England 2021. The first day saw the Indian team dominating as they ended their day on a huge 338 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. Apart from brilliant batting display by Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, there was a moment in the game when crowd chants ‘Jarvo, Jarvo’ as a fan intrudes the field.
The ‘Jarvo, Jarvo’ chant from the crowd came in the 28th over of Indian inning when Shreyas Iyer got out off Anderson’s fifth delivery of the over. The intruder ran into the field but was taken off by the security personnel. As he was being taken off the field, the crowd chanted ‘Jarvo, Jarvo’ and surely made for a comical moment in the game. The incident was definitely a reminiscent of intrusions by Jarvo last year.

As for the match, the Indian batsmen, in particular Pant and Jadeja lit up the Edgbaston ground with their scintillating batting under pressure. Pant went on to score a brilliant 146 runs while Jadeja completed yet another fifty for his team. Both the batsmen entered the field when half of the Indian batting line-up was back in the hut. Jadeja and Pant brought the team out of deep waters and they are now on the driving seat on the second day of the game.
