England’s wicketkeeper Ben Foakes is considered as one of the finest wicketkeepers of present times. Ben Foakes showed his athleticism in ongoing England versus England Lions fixture in Abu Dhabi as he pulled off an incredible stumping.
Ben Foakes’ pulls of a no-look backhand flick stumping
Team England will travel to Pakistan for a 3-test match series beginning on December 1 in Rawalpindi. The English side is currently in Abu Dhabi playing a practice game against the England Lions ahead of the Pakistan series. The conditions in Abu Dhabi are similar to Pakistan and have offered some turn, making things tougher for the English keepers.
However, Ben Foakes is made different as he has always shown some brilliant keeping skills in Asian conditions whether it was in India or Sri Lanka. Foakes has shown some brilliant hands while keeping against spinners on rank-turners which makes him a regular keeper for England in Asian test matches.
English bowler Will Jacks was bowling off-spin and the ball was doing enough on Abu Dhabi pitch to trouble the batter. On the first ball of the 68th over, Foakes showed brilliant athleticism as he was quick to respond to a ball straying way down the leg side. England lion’s batter, Haynes, chased the delivery as he came out of his crease to attempt a shot but got beaten with the sharp turn.
Wicketkeeper Foakes fell to his knees as he completed an almost impossible take and then managed a backhanded flick at the stumps. Haynes never expected such a brilliant throw from the keeper and was way short of his crease when the ball broke his stumps. It was definitely one of the most difficult stumping and Foakes made it look too easy.

Earlier, Ben Foakes played a knock of 48 runs off 62 deliveries for Team England batting at number 7 and helped them reach a mammoth total of 501 runs. England’s skipper Ollie Pope led the team from the front as the batter scored a 120-ball 146 and got some support from Zak Crawley and Will Jacks who were amongst some runs as well.
