The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League finally resumed after being halted only after 14 matches in March due to a Coronavirus scare. The tournament resumed on 09th June in Abu Dhabi where the rest of the tournament will take place. In the 19th match of the tournament, an on-field accident befell involving Faf du Plessis and his teammate Mohammad Hasnain.
The tournament started on 20th Feb in Karachi where Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators locked horns. However, 14 matches into the league, Coronavirus cases were found and the tournament had to be postponed. The arrangements were made by PCB to continue the tournament at later dates, but there was a lot of confusion regarding the travel as many players were denied clearance to fly to UAE. Even the official site was showing wrong details.
After a lot of hullabaloos, the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League came on course and the 15th match was played in Abu Dhabi between Lahore Qalandar and Islamabad United on 09th June. The incident involving Faf du Plessis took place in the 19th match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in the seventh over of the first inning.
Faf du Plessis involved in a collision
The collision between Faf du Plessis and Mohammad Hasnain occurred as Miller came down the track off Mohammad Nawaz and drilled the ball back past the non-striker. Faf du Plessis ran full throttle as the ball was hit, collected the ball, but his head, unfortunately, hit the knee of Mohammad Hasnain, who was running across from long-off. The physio ran in and checked for a concussion. Faf went off the field after the incident.

Plessis is recovering well as informed via a tweet. “Thank you everyone for all the messages of support. I’m back at the hotel recovering. Have concussion with some memory loss but I will be fine. Hopefully be back on the field soon. Much love,” wrote du Plessis.
