The 30th game of the Hundred Men’s competition between Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire witnessed a surreal acrobatic effort by Harry Brook who was inches close to the boundary line. Welsh Fire batsman Jonny Bairstow was hoping to hit the ball for a six towards the leg side off Brydon Carse’s bowling in the 82nd ball.
Harry Brook who was playing for Northern Superchargers accurately judged the trajectory and distance of the ball as it came towards him. At first sight, Harry Brook had a hunch that the ball might cross the boundary. Nevertheless, he positioned himself in such a way that he somehow attempted the catch in one hand.
As it turned out, it proved to be tricky since he was close to the boundary line. After catching the ball in one hand, he quickly threw the ball up in the air, which bought him some seconds to go over the line. Harry Brook made a rebound to take the catch but then again, he realized that it was not a safe move.

In what was a huge presence of mind, he threw the ball towards Adam Hose and the latter completed the catch. On paper, it would seem that Adam Hose took the catch but had it not been for Harry Brook’s effort, it would have been a different story altogether. Brook deserves every bit of credit for his breathtaking attempt. Feast your eyes on watching Harry Brook’s effort below.

Harry Brook was adjudged the Player of the Match for his batting masterclass. At the post-match presentation, he said, “I was trying to get us over the line. I was trying to hit the ball hard and straight. Had clarity. Needed a lot of runs. I had to change the bat as the handle was gone. We still got a group from last year. A few sides bonded better than us. I just want to continue to concentrate on the next game I am playing.”
