Team India’s wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant met with a deadly car accident on December 30 when he was driving back home to Roorkee from Delhi and suffered several injuries.

The whole cricket fraternity was in great shock as the news about Rishabh Pant’s car accident broke out while a video of his India teammate Ishan Kishan receiving the news via fans during a Ranji match has gone viral on social media.

Fans inform Ishan Kishan about Rishabh Pant’s accident

Ishan Kishan who represents Team Jharkhand in the domestic circuit was fielding in the game against Services at the Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur. Just close to the boundary fence, he was signing autographs and took selfies with some of his fans when one of the fans told him about Rishabh Pant’s car accident.

“Rishabh Pant ka car accident hogya,” one of the fans told him. Kishan was shocked after listening about the accident as he exclaimed, “Kya (What)” after which some other fans started telling him about the severity of the car accident. Just when all the fans were sharing news about the accident one of the fans told Ishan to focus on the game.

Rishabh Pant suffered two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back as informed by the BCCI in a statement. While Pant’s condition is stable, he will need at least 3 months to get fully fit.

Ishan Kishan couldn’t score much in the game as he was dismissed by Arpit Guleria for the score of 13 in the first innings after which he came to open the innings when Team Jharkhand came to bat again. Kishan just scored 13 runs in this innings as well as he was dismissed by Pulkit Narang this time.

Ishan Kishan is part of the Indian squad for the series against Sri Lanka beginning from January 3. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, the Indian team will be hopeful of getting consistent runs from the young Jharkhand batter after he scored a terrific double ton in Bangladesh.
