Meanwhile, Team India defeated Pakistan in the all-important contest on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The most-anticipated clash eventually remained quite one-sided as the Men in Blue outperformed Pakistan in all three domains of the game.

The Men in Green got a steady start courtesy of their opening pair after which skipper Babar Azam smashed a fifty and Mohammed Rizwan scored a crucial 49. However, their batting lineup eventually succumbed to pressure and had a terrible collapse in the second half of the innings.

The Babar Azam-led side were once placed at 155-2 but ended up losing their last 8 wickets for just 36 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav took a couple of wickets each and didn’t allow their lower middle order to score freely.

While chasing a below-par target of 192 runs, Team India lost the early wicket of Shubman Gill who had missed the first two games due to Dengue fever. However, skipper Rohit Sharma looked in some hurry as he played his shots against all Pakistan bowlers right from the word go.
