After having a wonderful first day in the first Test against South Africa, team India witnessed a collapse on the third day. Rain played a spoilsport on the second day and the play was called off without even a ball being bowled. Though the Indian team had a collapse, their bowlers didn’t let the advantage slip. However, in the process, India’s ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle.
After the second day was washed by the incessant rain, the South African bowlers made the most of the conditions on the third day as they took the remaining 7 Indian wickets in the first session itself. Team India had notched up a good score already, but the collapse didn’t allow the team to get to 350. And also Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle and he had to leave the field.

Bumrah claimed the first South African wicket of the captain Dean Elgar and gave Indian a flying start. He looked in a great rhythm and was bowling brilliantly, troubling the South African batsmen. Unfortunately, while bowling a delivery Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle as he finished his run-up. He twisted the ankle so horribly that he had to leave the field immediately after that.
The other Indian bowlers made up for Bumrah’s absence as they kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle and was taken for treatment but the other bowlers didn’t allow the South African batsman to set their eyes. The Indian fans took a sigh of relief when Bumrah returned to the field and even claimed the last South African wicket.

As for the match, team India is in the driving seat with a huge lead of 146 runs with 9 wickets in hand. They will look to consolidate their position on the fourth day which could prove to be the deciding day of the match.
