Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 runs in a nail-biting thriller on May 4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After their loss against the KKR side, SRH team owner Kavya Maran’s reactions during the game have gone viral across social media platforms.
Kavya Maran was present at the stadium to support her side in the Match No. 47 of IPL 2023. It was a must-win game for the Aiden Markram-led side as they had already lost 5 out of their 8 games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad dominated the Nitish Rana-led side for the most part of the contest. At once they were cruising towards the target which allowed Kavya Maran to show her happy reactions as she enjoyed the game from the stands.
However, the joy soon turned into agony as KKR off-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy scripted a remarkable win by five runs as he defended 9 runs off the last over. After SRH’s loss against KKR, she could be seen with a sad expression that went viral on Twitter and Instagram.

Earlier, during the Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings, she was seen jumping for joy with every wicket that her team SRH claimed. After the loss, Kavya Maran was seen ruefully applauding the KKR team after her side succumbed to their sixth loss in IPL 2023.

While several pictures and videos of her happy and sad reactions from the match are going viral on the internet, she must not be happy with her team’s performance in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. Sunrisers Hyderabad are placed at the 9th position in the points table with just 6 points.
Talking about the game, the KKR side posted a total of 171-9 courtesy of crucial knocks by Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh. Rana scored 42 runs off just 31 deliveries while Rinku smashed 46 runs off 35 balls. Marco Jansen and T Natarajan scalped a couple of wickets each to restrict KKR from posting a big total.

In response to the total posted by the KKR side, didn’t get a great start after which skipper Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen took the game forward. However, just when they looked like cruising toward the total, they lost a few wickets in quick succession. In the end, they fell short by 5 runs and Kolkata Knight Riders got their 4th victory in IPL 2023.
