Watch: KL Rahul and Virat Kohli troll Ishant Sharma for his hilarious batting challenge

‘Stay home, stay safe’- an iconic tagline, which has attained immense popularity over the past few weeks in the wake of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. Celebrities, across just about every social-media circle; are coming up with posts sensitizing their audiences about the importance of this fundamental health-precaution. Team India fast-bowler Ishant Sharma recently joined the list of such celebrities. On Wednesday, the lanky Delhi pacer uploaded a video, featuring a hilarious take on the ‘Stay home stay safe’ message.

The video started with Ishant talking about his time being quarantined, owing to the nation-wide lockdown. He then talked about the Cadbury 5-Star challenge Rohan Joshi had nominated him for. The rules of the challenge required Ishant to play an outdoor sport indoors. Seemingly pumped up about the task, Ishant switched into his cricket gear of helmet and batting gloves; and set out to take the challenge.

However, the build-up of watching a charged-up Ishant walk into bat ended up failing hilariously; as he walked into a room, grabbed a chair and a book to start his innings of ‘book-cricket’. Courtesy two consecutive ‘8-runs’, Ishant managed to score 16-runs before losing his wicket. Here’s the video of Ishant’s swashbuckling-innings that he uploaded on Instagram.

KL Rahul and Virat Kohli’s reaction to Ishant’s batting

The odds of watching Ishant exhibit such passion while batting are few and far between; hence some of his teammates decided to savour the moment by trolling him. Wicket-keeper KL Rahul thanked Ishant for not showing his actual batting skills, to which Ishant responded by trolling Rahul for his fast-bowling. His pace-bowling partner Umesh Yadav reacted with a thumbs-up, while captain Virat Kohli couldn’t stop being amused by Ishant’s new on-field avatar.
