Watch: ‘Lord’ Shardul Thakur bowls a bizarre delivery as he failed to execute the ‘knuckle ball’

The Delhi Capitals bowler tried to do something out of the box but failed badly.

Over the years cricket has known to produce some comical moments as one such incident took place in a Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Shardul Thakur lost control of the ball while attempting to deliver a knuckleball which produced a hilarious cricketing moment.

DC captain Risabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first and the team managed to take wickets of the opposition at regular intervals. KKR were reduced to 35/4 at one stage but Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana tried to steady the ship. KKR was in trouble but Shardul Thakur produced a comical moment with his actions.

Thakur who came out to bowl the 11th over of the first innings. Nitish Rana was on the crease, Thakur started his run-up for the fifth ball of the over and was attempting to bowl a knuckleball. However, the ball slipped out of his hands and was tossed towards mid-on. This prompted great reaction from the netizens.

With the victory over KKR, DC have jumped two places and are currently sixth in the points table and back in the race for top 4 on the other hand the side from Kolkata have lost five matches in a row and as their bizzare run continues. It will mammoth task for KKR to turn the tables and finish in the playoff spots.
