The Australian national cricket team led by Pat Cummins hit the sweet spot in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 final against the Indian national cricket team at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The entertainment quotient was amplified when the two cricketing giants locked horns with each other. Both teams gave absolutely everything in the contest but Australia had the last laugh in the battle as they were a cut above the Indians across all facets of the game.

Rightly so, they deservedly got the better of Rohit Sharma and Co by six wickets to clinch the ICC ODI World Cup title. Australia decorated the trophy cabinet with a record six titles, more than any other team in the history of the sport. Team India and West Indies follow next with two ICC ODI World Cup honours apiece. Travis Head who scored a match-winning hundred was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Australian players were on cloud nine after winning the coveted honour. The Men in Yellow assembled to collect the winners’ medal and meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa caught everyone’s attention after they were seen ignoring a handshake with the BCCI and ICC officials.

David Warner and was seen greeting BCCI secretary Jay Shah and India’s batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar with a customary handshake but the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa ignored them. The video clip of the same has gone viral on social media platforms.

Talking about the game, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first. Team India set up a target of 241 for Pat Cummins and Co. The Men in Yellow got the job done despite being reeling at 47/3. Australia chased down the target with seven overs to spare. Travis Head top-scored with 137 off 120 balls including 15 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 114.17 whereas Marnus Labuschagne scored 58 off 110 balls including 4 fours.
