Watch: Matthew Wade felt robbed after Ultraedge showed no spikes; Virat Kohli consoled the GT batter

This is not the first time where the Ultraedge has misbehaved this way in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to the field today in a do-or-die match against Gujarat Titans, who have been the most successful team in this season of the Indian Premier League. The second inning of the all-important match is underway currently; however, the first inning witnessed a moment where GT batter Matthew Wade felt robbed and Virat Kohli was seen consoling the batsman.

Matthew Wade was livid with the decision

The 67th match of the Indian Premier League saw Hardik Pandya winning the toss and opting to bat first. Their opponent had a decent start as RCB claimed two wickets within the powerplay, but the GT captain played an important inning for his team and took their score to 168 after early hiccups. Though Gujarat did well to recover, the wicket of Matthew Wade has created a little stir as the batsman was not happy at all with the decision.

The incident took place in the last over of the powerplay where Glenn Maxwell was bowling to Matthew Wade. The GT batsman went for a sweep on the second delivery of the over but couldn’t really execute it. The bowler and the keeper went up in an appeal for LBW which was supported by the on-field umpire. Wade was quite sure that he had hit the ball before it went on to his pads. Shockingly for the batsman, the Ultraedge showed three reds leaving Wade livid.

This is not the first time the Ultraedge has behaved this way. The fans witnessed same sort of incident in one of the Mumbai Indians matches where there was a huge wave even before the ball came to the bat of Rohit Sharma. Matthew Wade was extremely upset after his dismissal and RCB cricketer Virat Kohli consoled him later on.

Royal Challengers Bangalore must win this game if they want to keep their chances alive in the tournament. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the playoffs and will end up on the top position even if they lose this game.
