During the second innings of the 2nd test match between New Zealand and England Bracewell was run out in a horrible fashion. He was far too casual in the running between the wicket which cost him his wicket at a very crucial stage of the game. England imposed a follow-on on the Kiwis in the second innings after they were bundled out on just 209 runs in the first innings. The New Zealand team came back much stronger than before and put on a fight in the second innings.

Captain Tom Latham’s 83 runs, Blundell’s 90, and out-of-form Williamson’s century helped New Zealand reach 483 runs. Their fighting spirit extended the lead to 258 runs and now England has to chase it in the remaining last day of the test match.

While Blundell was rescuing Kiwis to a challenging total he needed a partner to stick around with him. After the loss of Williamson’s wicket, Bracewell came into the crease along with well-set Blundell. Bracewell committed a mistake while running between the wickets.

Michael Bracewell’s loses his wicket in a bizarre fashion

The Kiwi all-rounder looked absent-minded as he was about to reach inside the crease while completing a double run. Blundell reaches the crease comfortably but his casual approach cost his wicket. He was not aware of the throw by the fielder and was coming inside the crease with laziness.

English captain Ben Stokes threw the ball quickly from the boundary line and the wicket-keeper Foakes showed his present mind. Foakes acted like the ball is too far which tried Bracewell to being lazy.

Bracewell didn’t touch his bat on the ground and just casually walked to reach inside the crease. Foakes whipped the bails off the moment he got the ball inside his hands.

Bracewell lost his wicket in a very crucial phase of the game as the team was looking to build a partnership to stretch the lead. Blundell was batting on 78 at that moment and he was looking for a company to make a challenging target but Bracewell didn’t support him. Bracewell got out on 8 runs after facing 18 deliveries.

New Zealand beat England by just 1 run

In a thrilling contest, the hosts managed to beat Ben Stokes-led side by 1 run. With the win, New Zealand becomes only the 4th team to win a Test match after following on. Thus, the 2-match Test series ends in a 1-1 draw.
