In the second test between India and Australia in Arun Jaitley Stadium, a pitch invader interrupted the game. The security guards tackled the invader and dragged him outside the ground. Watch: Mohammed Shami comes to protect a pitch invader after security personnel slaps him.

The Delhi stadium was jam-packed for the opening day of the test match between India and Australia on the 17th of February. During the drinks break of session 1, a fan invaded the pitch wanting to meet the Indian players standing in a huddle. 

The security saw him at the right time and didn’t make any delay in catching him before he could reach the players. They, later on, dragged the invader and even beat him while throwing him out off the ground. 

The invader even requested them to meet his heroes for once but the security staff did their job quite well.

After watching the security staff dragging and beating the invader Mohammad Shami stepped into the situation. Shami told the security guards to go easy on him and not to slap him. The gesture from the pacer one the hearts of every fan in the crowd and they gave him a cheer. 

The pitch invader tried his best to get away from the guards but the 3-4 security men’s grabbed him by his jacket. 

According to the laws, any pitch invader from the crowd is not allowed to step inside the ground. The invader can destroy the playing conditions and can even harm the players. For precautionary measures, the security guards are positioned to avoid such happenings. 

India in pole position after day 1

The Indian bowlers emerged too good for the Aussie batters once again as they bundled out them on 263 runs. Ashwin’s three-wicket haul made him only the second Indian after Kumble to take 100 wickets against Australia. Shami also bagged 4 wickets along with Jadeja who also had 3 scalps on his name.

For Australia Khawaja top scored with 81 runs and Peter Handscomb showed solidarity afterwards with a 71 runs innings. 

An exciting day 2 awaits in Delhi 

The test match between India and Australia will be heading to its moving day on Saturday. Indian batters will be looking to get the lead of at least 100 runs after the end of the day’s play. It looked like a decent surface to bat on after the opening day’s play.
