The prime Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj ran through the Sri Lankan side in the Asia Cup 2023 Final. He picked up 6 wickets giving away only 21 runs in his 7-over spell at the R Premadasa Stadium. Siraj was so good that he even chased a shot which was played in his own delivery to the boundary line.

Indian team showed a clinical performance in the Asia Cup 2023 Final stomping the Sri Lankan team with ease. After winning the toss Sri Lanka opted to bat first in a high-pressure cup tie in front of a jam-packed stadium.

On the very first over of the Innings Sri Lanka lost their opener Kusal Perrera courtesy of a teasing delivery by Jasprit Bumrah. However, the problems for the Lankan batters started increasing when Siraj came into the attack.

Mohammad Siraj removed Nissanka on the very first ball of his second over and then the Sri Lankan wickets started tumbling. Siraj grabbed 4 wickets in the same over in which he was once on a hat trick as well. However, his hat trick delivery was crisped down the ground by Dhananjya De Silva.

Mohammed Siraj’s hilarious running while fielding on his bowling

Mohammed Siraj was so pumped on the final game of Asia Cup 2023 that he ran backwards to save the boundary on his bowling. He did it as there was no fielder stationed at the mid-on as captain Rohit Sharma gave him an attacking field considering the hat trick ball.

Siraj did all his best to save the boundary but the fast bowler couldn’t manage to do so. His valiant run to save the boundary made Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill burst out laughing.

Virat and Shubman were placed in the slip cordon where they were certain that the ball would go for the boundary the it hit the bat but Siraj thought otherwise.

However, that boundary didn’t affect the player’s confidence as he picked up the wicket on the very next ball.

Siraj picked up his maiden fifer to make India 8 time champions of the Asia Cup

The world number 1 ODI bowler Mohammad Siraj proved his worth on the biggest stage where it matters. He looked unplayable at the R Premadasa Stadium against Sri Lanka handing Sri Lanka their biggest defeat in terms of balls.

Siraj got the wicket of Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjay De Silva, Charith Assalanka, Sadhira Samawikrama, and captain Dasun Shanaka.
