The former CSK captain made a genius move which resulted in a big wicket of Virat Kohli in the second inning.

Chennai Super Kings registered their first win of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League after facing four back-to-back defeats. The CSK squad was in their sublime best and trumped the confident RCB. Dhoni’s sharp strategic skills were on display during the match as MS Dhoni reads Virat Kohli’s mind and traps the Indian skipper to pile on the misery of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

After winning the toss, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis opted to bowl but the decision went terribly wrong as the CSK batsmen clobbered all his bowlers. Chennai gave a mammoth target of 217 runs to their opponent which proved to be too good for RCB. During the second inning, Dhoni’s tactical skills were at their best as MS Dhoni reads Kohli’s mind and gets him out the next ball, earning a crucial wicket for his team.

The Dhoni magic was witnessed by the fans on the first delivery of the fifth over of RCB inning. Kohli entered the field after RCB lost their skipper. There was no deep square leg fielder for the earlier batsmen, but as soon as Kohli came to bat, Dhoni placed a fielder at deep square leg. As it turned out, Kohli hit a short of a length delivery by Mukesh Choudhary to the lone fielder on the leg-side. Dhoni, the mastermind he is, proved his skills yet again which resulted in an important wicket.

The RCB batsmen tried really hard but their top-order couldn’t really fire and ultimately, they lost the match by 23 runs. RCB could only get to 193 for the loss of 9 wickets with three quick-fire innings by Shahbaz Ahmed, Prabhudessai and Dinesh Karthik. Though the middle-order gave their best, the target was too steep for them to achieve. With the victory, Chennai Super Kings have registered their first points on the table and will look to replicate their performance in the upcoming matches.
