The rivalry between CSK and MI has been going on since the opening season of IPL. The fan following for each team has gradually increased every year.They’ve had some epic battles not only in the IPL, but also in the now defunct Champions League T20 (CLT20).
MI and CSK – IPL’s own El Clasico
Both teams have twice won the CLT20. These two teams have won a total of nine IPL trophies, with MI winning five and CSK winning four. Suresh Raina of the Chennai Super Kings leads the way with 736 runs in 32 matches against the Mumbai Indians, followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma with 693 runs in 28 games.
In MI v CSK games, CSK has the highest total of 208 and MI has the lowest total of 79. Fans call it the ‘El-Classico’ of IPL, as these two franchises have won the maximum number of titles than any other franchise. The ongoing war between CSK and MI always keeps the
audience and fans on fire.
Mukesh Choudhary floors Ishan Kishan on his very first ball
Chennai Super Kings faced Mumbai Indians in the 33rd match of the Tata IPL 2022 on Thursday (21st April). Winning the toss CSK chose to bowl first. Mumbai Indians with a confident side started off with thier openers as Rohit Sharma, the skipper and Ishan Kishan led the side.
CSK’s new pace sensation, Mukesh Choudhary was handed with the ball as the innings started
off for MI. Starting with a beautiful delivery, the ball came in as a surprise for the MI skipper and caught himself to Mitchell Santner.
Just after another delivery, Mukesh delivered a marvelous in swinging ball to Ishan Kishan’s pads which in turn took off stumps with a blow. The in-swinging delivery left everyone in awe. Here’s the video.
