According to the new rules, a slow over rate will prove very costly to the fielding side. The in-game penalty rule came under the act the last season. It has created fear in the fielding captain’s mind to finish the 20 overs inside 90 overs.

If the fielding team fails to conclude 19 overs within 85 minutes then they will be bounded to put only 4 fielders outside the 30-yard circle. This rule gives an advantage to the batters for playing aerial shots freely.
