Aamer Jamal who made his Test debut two weeks ago, is garnering praise for his brilliant 82-run knock in the 3rd AUS vs PAK Test today. Pakistan had a horrible start to their innings as they lost both their openers at the score of 4 runs and the fall of wickets continued later in the innings. However, Aamer Jamal’s gritty innings at the end took Pakistan to a respectable total of 313 runs. During the innings, Pakistan’s no.9 better played some shots that had written class on them.

Aamer Jamal reverse-swept Nathan Lyon for a Six

Jamal hit 4 sixes in his innings and one of the six off Nathan Lyon’s delivery left the spectators jaw-dropped. In the 4th ball of the 74th over of the innings, Aamer Jamal played an outrageous reverse sweep for a maximum. You hardly get to see such shots from a tailender and not to forget that Nathan Lyon is the greatest Australian off-spinner.

As Jamal hit the shot the commentator went on to say, “Wow that’s brilliant, that’s remarkable for a No.9.” The Pakitan pacer was brilliant with the ball in the previous two matches but with this innings, he has also proved his batting prowess. We may expect him to bat up in the order in the next innings of the match.

However, a few overs later, Nathan Lyon managed to dismiss the dangerous-looking Aamer Jamal. Jamal concluded his innings with 82 runs off 97 balls, contributing to an impressive 86-run partnership for the last wicket with Mir Hamza.

The ongoing Test in Sydney will be a crucial moment to gauge his abilities as a bowler. With Shaheen Afridi dropped from the side, Jamal has to play a big role.
