Kolkata Knight Riders finally won a contest after losing 5 consecutive games in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League has got even more thrilling and intense as it has entered its second phase which will decide the fate of the teams. The 47th match of the league was played on Monday evening between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. The match witnessed a hilarious moment as Prasidh Krishna hits Trent Boult while trying to run a KKR batsman out.

The match between KKR and RR was a crucial encounter, more so for the Kolkata franchise as they are looking to stay alive in the tournament. This season for KKR has been full of ups and downs and they haven’t been able to produce good results. They finally tasted success after losing 5 matches on the trot. The contest also saw a comic moment where Prasidh Krishna hits his teammate and bowler Trent Boult as he tried to run-out a KKR batsman.

The funny incident came in the third over of the Kolkata inning when Trent Boult was bowling to Indrajith. The first delivery of the over was driven straight to mid-on as the KKR openers flew off for a quick single. Prasidh Krishna charged at the ball and aimed for the stumps, however he only ended up hitting Trent Boult’s boot who did well to jump and avoid a possible injury.

The Rajasthan players were in splits after the incident and it was fortunate that Boult didn’t get hurt. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer opted to bowl first after winning the toss and KKR bowlers did very well to restrict Rajasthan on just 152 runs. Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh then made light work of the chase as they notched-up a match-winning 66-run partnership.

With this victory, the Kolkata team are still alive in the tournament with 8 points in 10 matches. On the other hand, Rajasthan has now lost two consecutive matches and would like to win the next game and consolidate their position on the points table
