Watch: Rahul Dravid’s gesture makes disappointed Cheteshwar Pujara smile

The modern-day Indian wall fell on the very first delivery he faced on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test against South Africa.

Team India is on a tough assignment abroad as they are facing South Africa on their own turf in the Test series which started with the Boxing Day Test in SuperSport Park, Centurion. The Indian team displayed a great show on the opening day as they scored 272 runs at the loss of only 3 wickets. However, the modern-day wall of Indian cricket Cheteshwar Pujara couldn’t contribute anything to the scorecard. After he got out on a golden duck, Rahul Dravid’s gesture made disappointed Pujara smile.

The South Africa tour of India is going to be an acid test for both Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli. It is to note that India has never won a Test series against South Africa. The last series was played in the year 2018 where the Proteas came out victorious. The Indian team looks all set to create history this time and the sparks of it were shown in their batting on the opening day. Pujara was upset with himself after he bagged a golden duck, but Rahul Dravid’s gesture made him smile.

The Indian batsmen showed great class as they played cautiously against the Proteas’ bowling attack. The openers were wary of the conditions and played sensibly, notching up a century partnership for the first wicket.

Mayank Agarwal played beautifully before he got out at India’s score of 117. Cheteshwar Pujara came onto bat at No.3, but the right-handed batsman got out on the very first delivery. However, Rahul Dravid’s gesture towards the batsman cheered him up.

In a video that is doing the rounds, Rahul Dravid’s gesture towards Pujara made him feel happy. In the video, Dravid can be seen patting Pujara’s back after the batsman got out and the gesture is receiving a lot of praises. Pujara has not been in a good form ever since the completion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He will definitely look to contribute for his team with the bat in the second inning.
