Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by a huge margin of 112 runs in the IPL 2023 game on May 14 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In the game against RR, RCB wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat dismissed Ravichandran Ashwin with a ‘no-look run out’ that stunned cricket fans.

The RR batting order had a terrible collapse as their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler were dismissed without troubling the scorers. Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson too departed after scoring just a couple of runs making things even worse for them in the crucial game.

Joe Root finally got a chance to bat in IPL 2023 after missing out on an opportunity to bat in the previous two games but failed to make an impact as well. Root was dismissed after scoring only 10 runs as the RCB side looked in complete control of the contest.

The RR side were in a terrible position as they were reduced at a score of 49 for 6 in while chasing a total of 172 runs. Shimron Hetmyer played a shot down towards the deep point fielder, where Mohammad Siraj ran across swiftly and threw the ball back to the RCB wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat.

The RCB wicketkeeper intercepted the ball blind-sighted onto the stumps to catch Ravichandran Ashwin inches short of the crease. The RR batting pair were going back for a second run and eventually decided against it as Ashwin was left to try and return to the striker’s end only to be run out without facing a single delivery.

Anuj Rawat’s ‘no-look run out’ was applauded by cricket fans and former cricketers as well. The Sanju Samson-led side were bowled out for just 59 runs in the 11th over as Royal Challengers Bangalore won the RR vs RCB game by 112 runs.

When cricket fans found out that Anuj Rawat performed the brilliant wicketkeeping act with gloves that had the autograph of legendary Indian Captain MS Dhoni, Twitter was set ablaze with interesting posts and reactions.

Only two Rajasthan Royals’ batters reached double figures, and as many as four batters did not get off the mark as the Royals put on a sorry show at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. With just 12 points in 13 games, now it’s almost impossible for Rajasthan Royals to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2023.
