Team India’s young sensation Rinku Singh is known for his exceptional six-hitting ability in intense situations of the game. Rinku did the same on August 31 in the UP T20 League as he smashed three consecutive sixes against Shiva Singh and took his side Meerut Mavericks over the line in the Super Over.

Rinku Singh came into all sorts of headlines earlier this year after he smoked 5 consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal in the IPL 2023 game against the Gujarat Titans. His consistent performance in the cash-rich league helped him get his maiden Team India call for the T20I series against Ireland.

Rinku Singh’s hat-trick of sixes helps Meerut Mavericks defeat Kashi Rudras in UP T20 League

The Meerut Mavericks vs Kashi Rudras UP T20 League clash was a nail-biting thriller. The Meerut-based franchise put a competitive total of 181-4 on the scoreboard and the Kashi-based franchise leveled the score on the final delivery.

Kashi Rudras then scored 16 runs in the Super Over and looked like they had seized the game. However, Rinku Singh had different plans when he came in to bat while chasing 17 runs in the Super Over.

Left-arm spinner Shiva Singh was given the responsibility to bowl the Super Over. The left-handed batter couldn’t score any run on the first delivery but showed his true potential in the next three deliveries of the over.

Shiva Singh bowled a fullish delivery outside the off-stump which was smashed for a six over the long-off boundary by Rinku. The left-arm spinner was under intense pressure now and bowled a full-toss and the aggressive batter slogged it over the mid-wicket boundary for another maximum.

Singh then bowled a full-length delivery outside the off-stump channel which was again smashed over the long-off region by the young Indian batter. The three consecutive sixes smashed by Rinku Singh eventually took his over the line in a crunch game.

It’s worth noting that Rinku couldn’t perform well for his side during the 20-over-per-side contest as he batted for 22 deliveries and yet could only score 15 runs. However, his ability to perform in tough pressure situations made his side send him to bat in the Super Over.

Madhav Kaushik played a scintillating knock of 87 runs off just 52 deliveries that helped the Meerut Mavericks team put on a total of 181 runs. Purnank Tyagi and Vaibhav Chaudhary took a couple of wickets each for their side.
