The game between India and Zimbabwe was a thriller as Zimbabwe put enough effort into their final game of the Super 12 stage. However, Zimbabwe lost by 71 runs as they could score only 115 runs while chasing a total of 186.
The Indian Team got a steady start but their innings were accelerated by Suryakumar Yadav’s stellar innings of 61 runs off just 25 deliveries with four sixes and six fours. Yadav who’s the top-ranked batter in the ICC T20 rankings continued his purple patch with the bat.

KL Rahul too scored a fifty off just 35 deliveries while the other batters couldn’t contribute much to the total. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who replaced Dinesh Karthik in the XI too departed cheaply for just 3 runs. Sean Williams was the standout bowler for Zimbabwe as he took two wickets including Virat’s crucial wicket and gave away just 9 runs off his two overs.
Zimbabwe’s top order collapsed courtesy of the in-form Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who took a wicket each. Things went really badly for the Zimbabwe Team as Shami, Ashwin, and Pandya too kept on taking wickets and the innings never got any sort of momentum.
