Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson pulled off an MS Dhoni while his partner Yashasvi Jaiswal was batting in the 90s. The 21-year-old batter lit up the Eden Gardens and scored a 13-ball fifty. Every single game between the mid-table teams in the tournament is currently very crucial. Before the start of this game, both teams were on 10 points and a win was a must to leap forward.

After winning the toss RR opt to bowl first at a very decent wicket to bat on. Knight Riders started off poorly as they lost 2 wickets inside the powerplay. Venkatesh Iyer made 57 off 42 which took the KKR total to 149/8 after the completion of 20 overs.

The KKR team batted poorly on a very decent-looking surface however they still had hopes in their bowlers to defend it. Captain Nitish Rana took a bold decision to bowl the first over of the innings. Unfortunately, the decision backfired him as Jaiswal belted 26 runs in his first over.

RR didn’t hold themselves back after a firey start in the very first over. Jaiswal went on to score an unbeaten 98 while on the other hand, his captain Sanju Samson scored 48 off 29. The game was done and dusted inside 14 overs which gave a massive hike to RR’s net run rate.

While Jaiswal was toying with the KKR bowlers Sanju Samson was playing a second-fiddle role. Samson was also batting quite well in the game and he also had the opportunity to score another half-century in this tournament. However, the captain sacrificed his half-century for his young teammate so that he can slam the second century of the season.

Although Jaiswal wasn’t able to score the century as he was batting on 94 when RR needed 4 runs. He scored a boundary on the very first ball of Shard ul’s over which sealed RR a win and whereas Yashasvi couldn’t be able to score another ton.
