Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is known for having a short temper as he has lost his cool multiple times on the field in the recent past. On Saturday, in the Bangladesh Premier League match between Fortune Barishal and Sylhet Strikers, Shakib got furious over an umpiring decision as a bouncer bowled at him wasn’t called wide by the umpire.

The match between Fortune Barishal and Sylhet Strikers was played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Shakib Al Hasan played a stellar knock of 67 runs off just 32 deliveries but had a forgetful moment during the innings as he got furious with the on-field umpire.

In the 16th over of Fortune Barishal’s innings, pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja bowled a bouncer to Shakib and it clearly went over the batter’s head. Shakib was expecting a wide being called by the leg umpire but both the umpires signalled one bouncer for the over. Shakib immediately got furious over the decision as he screamed multiple times at the leg umpire.

Shakib then charged towards the leg umpire and had a heated argument as he denied calling it wide. Shakib began vocally opposing the decision and was criticized for doing so by the commentators as well.

Moments after the forgetful incident happened its video went viral across social media platforms. It was evidently a poor decision by the leg umpire as the ball was way above Shakib Al Hasan’s head but the Bangladesh batter got backlash for his on-field behavior. The cricket fans believed it doesn’t set a good example for everyone watching the game as he’s the biggest Bangladesh star currently. Shakib has been in such verbal banter in the recent past as well.

However, this score wasn’t enough for them as the Sylhet Strikers comfortably chased down the score in the 19th over with 6 wickets remaining.
