Just 2 years after making his debut for the Indian team, Suryakumar Yadav has become an integral part of the national side. The unorthodox batter is a regular member of India’s white-ball teams and is currently playing 2023 World Cup. Meanwhile, ahead of the match against Sri Lanka at Wankhede, Suryakumar surprised fans with a never seen before avatar. The cricketer disguised as a cameraman and interacted with fans at Marine Drive, Mumbai.
BCCI’s official social media handles posted the video featuring Suryakumar Yadav as cameraman. Before the Mumbai match, the Indian Cricket Team is staying at a hotel near Marine Drive. Suryakumar Yadav, being a local boy, took the opportunity to interact with fans. In the video, he said, ‘We’re going to discover what makes Mumbai special. The World Cup fever is on, and we’ll have a Q&A with fans about it.”

Suryakumar Yadav took extra measures to go incognito. He wore a full shirt to hide his tattoos, covered his face with a mask, donned a cap, and wore sunglasses to make sure he wasn’t recognized. He then passed by Ravindra Jadeja’s room, but the all-rounder didn’t realize it was his teammate. When he revealed his identity, Jadeja had a good laugh about it.
While playing the role of a cameraman, Suryakumar interacted with fans who didn’t recognize him at all. In a funny moment, one fan even critiqued Suryakumar’s performance and offered some advice for improvement. It must have been hard for Suryakumar to keep a straight face under the mask.
In a later part of the video, Suryakumar had an interaction with a female fan who expressed her admiration, saying, ‘It’s a joy to watch Suryakumar Yadav play. He’s Mr. 360 for a reason. I’m looking forward to seeing him play at Wankhede.’ Suryakumar then chose to surprise the female fan by revealing his identity. Seeing her favorite player in front of her eyes, her reaction was absolutely priceless. You can watch the video below.
Talking about Suryakumar Yadav’s performance in the 2023 World Cup, he has got two chances in place of injured Hardik Pandya. In the last match against England, he played a crucial 49-run knock which helped India reach 229. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has been declared match-fit ahead of the upcoming match against Sri Lanka, and it will be interesting to see whether he replaces Suryakumar Yadav or any other player in the lineup.
