WATCH: Tanveer Sangha and Sam Billings botching a Catch in BBL leaves David Warner fuming

During the BBL 2024-25 match between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers, a comical incident took place. In the 15th over, Sixers’ captain Moises Henriques attempted a big shot off Tanveer Sangha’s delivery, but the ball took a top edge and went straight up in the air.

The ball was landing close to Henriques himself, and both the keeper, Sam Billings, and the bowler, Tanveer Sangha, were closest to it. They both ran to take the catch but failed to reach under the ball as each expected the other to take it. In the end, they both gave up, and the ball landed right between them.

The comedy of errors gave Henriques a lifeline. Seeing this, Sydney Thunder captain David Warner’s frustration was evident. Warner was visibly angry and seen yelling at Sangha and Billings. Commentator Mark Howard called it a “village cricket moment.

However, Henriques couldn’t capitalize on the lifeline, as he added just one more run to the scoreboard before getting dismissed in the next over. At this point, Sydney Sixers needed 46 runs off 4 overs, and the match seemed firmly in David Warner’s side’s control.

But in the very next over, Jordan Silk smashed 17 runs off Nathan Andrew, bringing the Sixers back into the contest. In the final over, the Sixers required 15 runs. Chris Green conceded 8 runs off the first four balls, leaving the Sixers needing 7 runs from the last two deliveries. Ben Dwarshuis rose to the occasion, smashing a six to turn the game on its head. He followed it up with a single on the last ball, securing a nail-biting victory for the Sixers.
