Virat Kohli completes his 48th ODI Hundred against Bangladesh in the World Cup 2023 league game. However, the Umpire Richard Kettleborough also supported him with a brave decision that he made while Kohli was on 98. Bangladeshi off-spinner tried to play a smart move by bowling a wide when Kohli was batting on 48 and India only needed 2 runs.

Indian team has started their World Cup campaign with a bang after another convincing win against Bangladesh. By winning all four games India is making a strong statement to all the other teams that they are strong favourites to lift the trophy.

Against Bangladesh Virat Kohli made a splendid hundred to guide the Indian team to their fourth consecutive win in the tournament.

Richard Kettleborough refused to give wide to let Virat Kohli complete his 48th ODI Hundred

The game was full of entertaining moments but the most eye-catching moment was when the umpire refused to call a leg side when Kohli was batting on 98 runs. Nasum was bowling the 42nd over of the innings when India needed only 2 runs to win.

Throughout the last 5 overs of the innings, Kohli was looking to complete his century and was also refusing to take a single when there was available. Bangladesh team saw the move done by Kohli and they started bowling wide ball deliberately.

However, umpire Kettleborough also did what Bangladesh were intending to do and he didn’t give a clear down the leg side wide when Kohli was on 98. His decision helped Kohli as he completed his Hundred in the World Cup after 8 long years.

The whole crowd went crazy when Richard Kettleborough denied the wide ball call and the experts in the commentary box were also holding their stomachs.
