Watch: Umran Malik’s thunderboult sends Derbyshire batter’s stump for a long walk

Umran Malik yet again impresses with his pace as he sends the middle stump rolling this time.

After an eventful day for the Indian test side in Edgbaston, India’s white-ball squad took on Derbyshire Falcons for a warm-up game just a few miles away from the test venue. The T20 side led by Dinesh Karthik won the match comfortably owing to some decent performances with the bat and the ball both.

While Deepak Hooda continued his good form with the bat, Surya Kumar Yadav and Sanju Samson as well joined him with good knocks. Talking about bowling, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik shined with their impressive spells. One of the highlights of the Indian bowling was Umran Malik’s lethal delivery to Brooke Guest which sent the stumps flying.

Team India has to play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against England in the ongoing tour. However, before the white-ball leg starts next week and while England and the Indian test sides are competing in the 5th test, India’s limited-overs squad is squaring off against the English County sides for a couple of warm-up T20 games.

Umran sends the middle stump rolling back with a quick delivery

Team India’s new pace sensation, Umran Malik, has continued to impress in the warm-up game as well. After bowling a match-winning last over in Malahide, Umran finished with figures of 2 for 31 in the warm-up game against Derbyshire.

The fast bowler cleaned up Leus du Plooy in his very first over. Plooy had just hit two boundaries to Malik’s bowling in the first two deliveries but the Jammu express bowled him out the very next ball. However, it was the last over of his spell when bowled an outstanding delivery.

Bowling the 17th over and the last ball of his spell, Umran bowled a fiery length ball to Brooke Guest. Guest, who was looking for some big shots, swung his bat and completely missed the ball. The blazing delivery went on to bamboozle the stumps as the middle stump was seen flying back towards the keeper.
