Team India are currently playing against Bangladesh in the 17th match of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The game is being held at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. Shakib Al Hasan missed the crucial game against India due to injury woes. Najmul Hossain Shanto is leading the team from the front in Shakib Al Hasan’s absence. Bangladesh got off to a tremendous start with the help of Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das.

The duo started the innings at a sedate pace and smartly went about their work. They slowly mounted pressure on the Indians who looked visibly hapless in stopping the partnership. During the ninth over, Litton Das was in attacking mode as he smashed two consecutive fours off Hardik Pandya’s bowling. In the third ball, the right-hander purely relied on timing as he executed a sensational straight drive.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, after his run-up attempted to stop the ball with his right leg and ended up slipping in the process wherein he got injured in the follow-through. He was literally wobbling towards his run-up and the physios rushed onto the field to have a look at Hardik Pandya’s condition. Hardik Pandya got his ankle taped by the physios before he was eventually taken off the field.

As per the latest update received from commentator, Nasser Hussain, Hardik Pandya has been undergoing scans of his left ankle. Case in point, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen having a chat together since three deliveries still remain in Hardik Pandya’s over. Interestingly, Indian captain Rohit Sharma summoned Virat Kohli to complete the remaining three balls as the crowd went berzerk.

Virat Kohli returned to the bowling crease after a gap of six years wherein he conceded 2 runs in the 3 balls he bowled. The video clip of Virat Kohli’s bowling went viral on the internet. Kuldeep Yadav provided a breakthrough by trapping Tanzid Hasan for a leg before wicket. He departed after making 51 runs.

Later on, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Bangladesh’s interim captain Shanto for an LBW as he departed after scoring 8. At the time of writing this article, Bangladesh posted 118/2 in 23 overs, with Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz batting on 53 and 2 respectively.
