Team India is facing Bangladesh in the second test of the two-match test series in Dhaka.

Rishabh Pant played a scintillating knock of 93 that helped India reach a total of 314 runs but was a part of a deadly mixup with Virat Kohli.

Team India lost both the openers and then Pujara for low scores in the first session which put Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant together on the pitch to steady the ship. Virat played an on-drive off the last delivery before the lunch break and ran for a single but was denied by Rishabh Pant.

Virat was quite keen for the single and had covered some distance towards the non-striker end before he had to rush back to his end. It looked like the single was on but Pant didn’t reciprocate at all to Virat’s call putting his life in danger. Eventually, Virat made a full-stretch dive and reached the crease just in time.

The star batter looked certainly displeased with Pant as he gave Pant a death stare to express his anger. Rishabh Pant too looked a bit nervous after the gaze as he knew he had made a terrible mistake. However, Virat gave a fist pump to Pant as the lunch was called by the umpires. Both the batters made sure that Team India doesn’t lose one more wicket after losing the top three in quick succession. India scored 86 for three in 36 overs at the time of lunch on Day 2.

Bangladesh’s conventional left-arm spinner, Taijul Islam, looked pretty dangerous in the first session as he departed India’s top three. Taijul was quite impressive with his line and lengths as he didn’t allow Rahul, Gill and Pujara to convert their good starts.

Rishabh Pant went on to play a crucial partnership with Shreyas Iyer as both the batters played with an aggressive approach and kept attacking the Bangladesh bowlers. While Pant departed for a well-made 93, Iyer scored a crucial 87 as both the batters helped Team India reach a rather comfortable position taking a lead of 87 runs in the first innings.
