Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli played a cautious knock on Day 2 of the first India vs West Indies test in Dominica. Kohli smashed his first boundary off left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican after playing 81 deliveries and hilariously celebrated it by punching the air during the third session on Day 2.
After a mammoth opening partnership, Team India had lost the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in quick succession. Kohli along with debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal tried getting the momentum back for the Men in Blue.

Virat Kohli remained calm in the middle and didn’t try to play any aggressive shots earlier in his innings in the third session on Day 2. He had scored just 25 runs off his first 80 deliveries and kept looking for just singles while forming a crucial third wicket partnership with young Yashasvi Jaiswal.
On the 5th delivery of the 109th over, Virat smashed a cover-drive against left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican which went all the way for a boundary. The experienced batter hilariously celebrated his first boundary and punched the air as he looked towards the dressing room.

Virat Kohli continued his cautious approach till the end of the play on Day 2 of the first India vs West Indies test. He remained unbeaten at a score of 36 runs after playing 96 deliveries scoring at a rate of just 37.5 with a solitary boundary.
Opening batter Jaiswal too remained unbeaten after smashing a ton on his first test and had 143 runs against his name by the end of the day’s play. Earlier, skipper Rohit Sharma scored a hundred before getting out against Caribbean all-rounder Alick Athanaze at a score of 103 runs.
The West Indies bowling lineup didn’t look penetrating at all throughout the second day as none of their pace bowlers could take any wickets. Their front line spinner Rahkeem Cornwall too remained wicketless which allowed the Indian opening pair to keep piling runs in the first two sessions.
The Men in Blue were eventually placed at a score of 312-2 by the end of play on Day 2 and had accumulated a first innings lead of 162 runs. With plenty of batting yet to come, the Indian team seems to be in the driver’s seat in the first India vs West Indies test in Dominica.
