In the 20th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 Royal Challengers Bangalore hosted Delhi Capitals. RCB won the game comprehensively as they beat Capitals by 23 runs. Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly do not have a great connection, especially after Virat Kohli’s captaincy saga. In 2021, India’s all-format skipper Virat Kohli stepped down from the T20I captaincy role. Following his decision to step down from T20 captaincy, the then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also sacked him from ODI and Test captaincy.
The BCCI president made that decision as he didn’t want split captaincy in the Indian team. Keeping in mind the split captaincy thing Ganguly opted for Rohit Sharma as the all-format skipper replacing Kohli.

After an entertaining game between RCB and DC at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Indian team’s former coach and captain didn’t shake hands. Virat Kohli even celebrated his half-century with an emotional celebration.
He gestured a fist bump on his chest by looking at the DC dugout where Ganguly was sitting.

Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly have never been caught on camera face to face after Kohli was sacked as the captain of the Indian team. The former Indian captain was not impressed with Ganguly’s decision of removing him from the ODI and Test captaincy without any prior notice.
Virat Kohli broke his silence on his removal as an ODI skipper after a few weeks. Kohli said that he was contacted about his captaincy removal via a phone call. He said “I was contacted one and a half hours before the selection meeting on the 8th for the Test series and there was no prior communication to me at all,”

Virat Kohli’s gritty fifty helped RCB win their second game of the season
While batting first RCB posted an above-average score of 174 runs. Virat Kohli scored 50 off 34 balls and Shabaz Ahmed gave the finishing touches of 20 runs.
Then while defending the target Vijay Kumat bowled a splendid spell of 3/20.
In the end, RCB won the game by 23 runs as DC only managed to score 151.
