The second and final Test between South Africa and India is being staged at Newlands, Cape Town. Earlier, South Africa took the first lead in the Test series by beating India by an innings and 32 runs at Johannesburg. In the second Test, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. The hosts came out intending to add flesh to the scoreboard but the Indian bowlers had other ideas as they gave South African batters a run for their money.

The likes of Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah and debutant Mukesh Kumar were the wicket-takers. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers as he ripped through the defence of South Africa’s batting line-up. The right-arm fast bowler chipped in with disciplinary bowling variations. As a result, he was able to pose a serious threat to the hosts and came through with flying colours.

Mohammed Siraj follows Virat Kohli’s advice and dismisses Marco Jansen

During the 16th over of South Africa’s innings, former Indian captain Virat Kohli, at the slip, was seen instructing Mohammed Siraj to pitch in with an out-swinger to Marco Jansen. Kohli even hinted that there could be a chance of Jansen getting an edge. Meanwhile, Siraj followed Kohli’s advice and did exactly the same and what happened next turned out to be a masterstroke as Marco Jansen was dismissed exactly as Kohli predicted.

KL Rahul took a regulation catch in his safe pair of gloves as Jansen departed for a duck. Jansen caused Indians all sorts of problems in the first Test wherein he scored an unbeaten 87 in the first innings. Besides that, he took four wickets in the game. Mohammed Siraj got rid of Jansen at the right time, which helped India restrict South Africa for just 55 runs, which is also Proteas’ lowest Test total against India.
