However, the celebration backfired when Sri Lankan fans mocked the Bangladesh team with the same dance after their defeat in the tournament’s final against India.

Since then, a lasting rivalry has emerged, with fans and social media users frequently using the Naagin dance reference to taunt and humiliate the Bangladesh team.
