In the second ODI against West Indies, the Indian team tried an out of the box opening combination. Rishabh Pant, who usually bats in the middle order came as an opener along with Rohit Sharma. However, the experiment didn’t work as Pant couldn’t leave an impact and played rather slow with a strike rate of just over 50. Even Rohit Sharma fell quite early in the inning scoring only 5 runs for his team.
