Yuzvendra Chahal is well-known for his witty bowling and taking wickets at crucial time for his team. The spin-wizard displayed the same in the first ODI where he claimed 4 Windies wickets and was deservingly adjudged the Player of the Match. The leg-break bowler was economical in the second ODI as well, however he is in the news for a totally different reason. The spinner came into bat at No.10 and the fans were left awestruck as Yuzvendra Chahal nails straight drive for a boundary.

After the loss of three wickets at just 43 runs, the responsibility fell on the shoulders of the middle-order. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav played quite sensibly, but a confusion between the wickets led to the big wicket of KL Rahul who was just one run short of his crucial half-century. Among all the lower order batsmen, it is Yuzvendra Chahal who is hogging the limelight for a straight drive he played against Alzarri Joseph.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s straight drive grabs netizens attention

The shot came on the first delivery of the final over of Indian inning. Joseph bowled a ball in the slot and Chahal drove it over the bowler for a four. It was surely a pristine drive from the cricketer who is known for his bowling. The fans were amazed to see the shot and so were Chahal’s teammates. Chahal added 11 important runs for his team and remained unbeaten at the end of the inning.

In the second ODI against West Indies, the Indian team tried an out of the box opening combination. Rishabh Pant, who usually bats in the middle order came as an opener along with Rohit Sharma. However, the experiment didn’t work as Pant couldn’t leave an impact and played rather slow with a strike rate of just over 50. Even Rohit Sharma fell quite early in the inning scoring only 5 runs for his team.

The Indian bowlers took it upon themselves and defended a below-par target of 238. The Windies batsmen faltered yet again and couldn’t build any partnership which could lead them to victory. Prasidh Krishna shined for India as the fast bowler scalped four Windies wickets and was adjudged the Player of the Match. With the win, team India has sealed the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead with one more match to go.
