Today, Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni is celebrating his 42nd birthday. The Ranchi-born cricketer is one of the most decorated cricketers and the most successful captain in Indian Cricket history. There is no doubt that his on-field achievements serve a huge role in his popularity around the globe. However, his off-field personality is also something that everyone is fond of. His simplicity and humility are something that every cricket fan is aware of. Pakistan actress Mathira Khan reveals such an incident when MS Dhoni brought a smile to her face after being humiliated by Pakistan cricketers.

When MS Dhoni made a disheartened Mathira Khan’s day

The incident dated back during Asia Cup 2008 when team India toured Pakistan. Both teams were staying at the same hotel, Mathira Khan, who was 15 years old then was also in the same hotel. She spotted Pakistan cricketers having a meal and approached her favorite cricketer for an autograph. But she was harshly denied as the Pakistan cricketer said, ‘Don’t you have shame? we are having lunch’.

MS Dhoni who was also sitting beside them having his meal saw this and felt for young Mathira. Dhoni then asked her if she would like to get his autograph as he is also a cricketer. She happily agreed and Dhoni also had a conversation with her. The interaction with the Indian captain made Mathira Khan’s day and it certainly won her heart.

Mahira Khan reveals, “When I was 15 years old, I saw Pakistan & Indian teams in the hotel, I was very excited & went to one Pakistani player & asked to sign on my cap but he replied- ‘don’t you have shame? we are having lunch’ I felt very sad but then one cricketer called me & said- ‘We are also cricketers, I will sign your cap & that cricketer was MS Dhoni”

Mathira Khan has hosted many Pakistan shows and she also made her way to Indian cinema as a dancer. She was born to a Zimbabwean-Pakistan family in Harare. In 2013, she married Dubai-based rapper Farran J Mirza but the couple split in 2018.
