‘Will play good match with her’ – Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar’s double meaning comment after marriage goes viral

Mukesh Kumar was an unfamiliar name for the cricket world until last year but now he is even in BCCI’s plans for T20 World Cup 2024. The Bihar-born pacer got his maiden call-up for India in December 2022 owing to his domestic performance and made his debut in all three formats for India within a month. Meanwhile, amid his successful phase, the 30-year-old tied the knot with his girlfriend Divya Singh.

Both Mukesh Kumar and Divya Singh have been close to each other since childhood. Both studied together and soon their friendship turned into love relationship. Divya belongs to Baniapur Berul village in Chhapra, Bihar. On the other hand, the Indian pacer resides in Gopalganj, Bihar.

Mukesh Kumar’s cheeky comment on his wife goes viral

The marriage took place on November 28 in Gopalganj. Mukesh was part of India’s T20I squad which was playing against Australia. But he left the team after 2nd T20I to marry the love of his life. During the reception, the couple was interviewed by media and a piece of which has gone viral on the internet.

The cricketer looked excited after his marriage and went on to make a cheeky comment. “I am feeling good. Jinke saath starting se raha hai, unke saath doosri paadi start kia hu. Aur match bhi agey accha khelunga main… inke saath(I have started my second innings with the person I was with from the start. In the future too I will play good match… with her)”. Here’s the video.

Talking about Mukesh Kumar’s career, he has tasted success in last one year. He broke into all three formats for India and also earned his maiden IPL contract with Delhi Capitals. So far, he has played 9 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 1 Test match taking 7, 4 and 2 wickets in the repective formats. He has the ability to bowl blockhole yorkers in death overs.

He belongs to Bihar but plays domestic cricket for Bengal as in 2012, he moved to Kolkata with his father who has taxi business there. Mukesh has been retained by Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2024 season. In 10 IPL games of his career, he has taken 7 wickets. The upcoming IPL season will be crucial for him as he seeks to strengthen his contention for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
