The first-ever Women IPL is set to kick off on the 4th of March with the opening game between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians. It will be a 22-game tournament and the final will take place on the 26th of March. Here is the detail about Women’s IPL 2023 Live Telecast Channel: Where to watch WPL Streaming in India?

BCCI decided in the AGM of 2022 that they will put more emphasis on improving women’s cricket in India. The board wanted to drive the young girls in the country to pursue the field of cricket and hence they launched the first-ever women’s IPL.

The tournament started getting a great response the moment it was announced. BCCi generated hefty revenue by selling the media rights of the tournament.

BCCI sold the Broadcasting rights of WIPL for 951 Crores INR

The Reliance-backed company Viacom 18 bought the broadcasting rights of the Women’s IPL. Even the board didn’t believe that they would get such a high bid but the craze of cricket in India is unmatchable.

The Viacom 18 sees Women IPL as a great business platform due to the reach of the tournament.

The 5-year cycle will cost 951 crores to Viacom 18 which means per match of WIPL will have a value of 7.09 Crores. In addition, Jio Cinema and Jio TV will telecast games for free.

The Viacom 18-run channel Sports 18 will telecast the WIPL games live in India.

The tournament will be live on the new channel Sports 18. The same channel telecasted the whole FIFA World Cup 2022 which was held in Qatar. The WIPL 2023 will be available live in both English and Hindi Commentary.

Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians are set to play the opening game on 4th March

The first match of the highly anticipated tournament will be played between Beth Mooney’s Gujarat and Harmanpreet’s Mumbai. The match will be played in DY Patil sports academy, Navi Mumbai at 7:30 PM (IST).
