‘Yahi Mauka Hai’ – Rishabh Pant hilariously motivates R Ashwin to bowl leg-spin in Warm up match

Though Ashwin couldn't grab a wicket in the warm-up match against England, he was the most economical bowler for India.

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has made his comeback into the India T20 squad after a gap of 4 long years. His selection into the T20 World Cup squad came by surprise to everyone but was appreciated by many. The spinner has been picked on the basis of his improvement in the white-ball arena, as Captain Kohli said. He was picked over the wrist spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

“Armaan pura karne ka yahi mauka hai” says Rishabh Pant to R Ashwin

Ashwin was included in the very first outing for the Indian team in T20 World Cup as he was played against England in the warm-up match. Though the spinner could not pick a wicket but was the most economical bowler for India. He bowled his entire quota of four overs and gave away just 23 runs. While he was bowling the tidy spell, Rishabh Pant, who apart from his batting is also known for his chit-chat from behind the stumps, was heard giving some hilarious piece of advice to Ravi Ashwin.

As it’s known to all, Ashwin tries to bowl various variations, including leg-spin, in order to surprise the batsmen. Hence, in the 11th over of the England innings when Bairstow was on-strike and Ashwin came in to bowl, Pant jokingly advised Ashwin to bowl leg-spin.

“Armaan pura karne ka yahi mauka hai. Leg spin karne ka. Mauka bhi hai, dastoor bhi hai,” Pant said. Which translates to – “This is the right chance to complete your desire of bowling leg-spin”. Though Ashwin didn’t bowl the leggie, Pant surely had fun making hilarious comments from behind the stumps.
