Pakistan’s bowling coach Shaun Tait got into a heated discussion with journalists after Day 4 of the second Test between his side and New Zealand at the National Stadium, Karachi.

The Pakistan bowlers have got some criticism for not bowling up to the mark in the series against New Zealand and England.

Shaun Tait baffled by journalists’ questions at a press conference

Pakistan bowling coach Shaun Tait was addressing the press conference after the end of the fourth day’s play. New Zealand dominated the series and was in a comfortable position at the stumps of day 4. The Journalists asked Tait about the consistently poor performance by Pakistan bowlers to which the former pacer got into a heated discussion.

One of the journalists asked Tait how he can justify the performance of the Pakistan fast bowlers this season, “Poor performances in five Test matches by Pakistani fast bowlers and inconsistent performances by the spinners. How can you justify the overall performance in this home season,” to which Tait replied by simply saying, “That’s your opinion.”

Another journalist raised the same question and asked, “It is the opinion of the entire nation of Pakistan. They think Pakistan’s fast bowlers did not bowl well. But I am asking you, are satisfied with your performances as Pakistan bowling coach.”

"You're answering the question yourself, ask me the question," Pakistan bowling coach Shaun Tait.

“You are answering the question before you ask it. That is your opinion. You are saying the performances have been poor. Ok, that is your opinion, what would like me to say?” Tait replied. The former Australian pacer was then asked, “The question is are you satisfied with your performance as Pakistan bowling coach,” to which he replied by saying, “Yes I am satisfied.”

The New Zealand team scored a total of 449 runs in the first innings while they declared their second innings at 277-5. Pakistan bowlers specifically their pace bowlers weren’t able to leave any impact on the New Zealand batters as at one point in time, the Kiwi’s side looked like winning the test. However, Sarfaraz Ahmed played a match-saving knock of 118 runs and the New Zealand bowlers failed to break the last partnership before the end of the fifth day’s play.
