Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal has often been the subject of memes and trolls on social media for speaking the wrong English. Whenever he posts a tweet, the netizens pay complete attention towards the tweet to find a grammatical mistake in the first place. Most of them have even generated a truckload of memes based on Umar Akmal’s broken English on social media.

Recently, the Lahore-born cricketer once again became troll material after he made a silly mistake while praising Mohammed Siraj on X (formerly known as Twitter). Mohammed Siraj became the talk of the town after he stole the spotlight with his scintillating performance against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final. Mohammed Siraj was the wrecker-in-chief as he took six wickets to his credit in 7 overs.

Mohammed Siraj bowled unplayable deliveries to reap rewards in the Asia Cup 2023 final. His magical bowling spell left Sri Lanka in tatters as the hosts were skittled out for 50, registering an unwanted record of their second-lowest team total in ODI history. India beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets and lifted their eighth Asia Cup title. Siraj was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling spell.

After the game, several cricketers, experts and fans took to social media to reserve the highest respect for Siraj for the way he went about his work. Meanwhile, Umar Akmal wrote, “You was amazing in finals, @mdsirajofficial and congratulations team India @BCCI.” His tweet caught the attention of the netizens as they were ready to spot the error committed by the Pakistani cricketer.

While the majority of the users trolled the cricketer for his wrong English, a user defended Umar Akmal.

Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal has been going through a lot of hardship after being suspended back in 2020 for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code. The Pakistani international was banned for a total of three years. Nevertheless, the cricketer filed an appeal to the International Court of Arbitration which led to a reduction of his ban from three years to 1 year.

The experienced campaigner was last seen in action during the previous edition of the Pakistan Super League. The 33-year-old cricketer played his last international game back in 2019. He is hoping to make a comeback in the national team.
